Awakening - Seven Knights Idle Adventure

Introduced in the 9/4 Update

Awakening is one of the most important progression systems in Seven Knights Idle Adventure.
But is it really worth the cost? And which heroes should you prioritize?

In this guide, we break down everything you need to know — including strategy, costs, and optimization tips.

Awakening hero interface Seven Knights Idle Adventure

You now have the option to awaken certain heroes, allowing you to revamp their skills and improve their overall stats.

Each time a new hero is released, they will now always come with their awakened version.
Depending on the updates, some older heroes will benefit from an awakening.

Requirements for awakening a hero

To awaken a hero, they must be level 100 and have an awakened version.

Ego Stone

A hero mainly evolves thanks to ego stones.

Ego Stone - Seven Knights Idle Adventure

For every 40k ego stones spent on a hero, you have a 4% chance of awakening them. This rate can be doubled to 8% if you pay 40,000Rubies icon- Seven Knights Idle Adventure (10,000 by percentage).

If successful, your hero becomes awakened.
If it fails, your hero's evolution bar increases by 4%.
Once it reaches 100%, your hero can be evolved directly. This is the PITY system.

Awakening interface - Seven Knights Idle Adventure

If you do not use rubies, you will need a maximum of 1 million ego stones to awaken a hero.
If you spend rubies, you will need a maximum of 520k ego stones and 480kRubies icon- Seven Knights Idle Adventure. (12 awakening attempts with rubies and 1 attempt without rubies)

How to obtain ego stones.

You can obtain ego stones in various ways, but your biggest source will remain the Abyss Expedition:

  • Abyss Expedition
  • Exchange via Elke's cauldron. (10k Elke's Ego Stone for 1k Ego stones)
  • Archive rewards.
  • Rewards from in-game events.

To give you an idea, currently at the very hard level of the Abyss Expedition, I earn 25,000 ego stones per run.
This allows me to attempt at least one awakening per day.

Ego stones specific to heros

In some cases, such as collaborations, developers may release ego stones specific to one or more heroes, allowing them to be substituted for classic ego stones.
This is the case, for example, with Runcandel's ego stones for the collaboration The Swormaster's Son.

Ego Stone Essence

Since the 1/22 update, a new item is available called Ego Stone Essence, which allows you to evolve a hero instantly without ego stones.
Please note that this item is limited to certain heroes.
This item is available during certain shop events for 500kRubies icon- Seven Knights Idle Adventure.Ego Stone Essence in shop - Seven Knights Idle Adventure
Depending on your ruby reserves and your luck with awakenings, it may be a good option to purchase it.

Best Awakening Strategy

Early Game

At the beginning of the game, your main goal is to catch up with other players as quickly as possible. To do so, you need to obtain awakened heroes as fast as possible — the game already provides you with a free awakening for Magic Society Elke.

However, your Ego Stones income is very limited early on and only starts at floor 8,001 when you unlock Abyss Expedition (outside of events). This means you need to optimize their usage and increase your awakening success rate using rubies.

As a new player, you will earn a large amount of rubies, so using them early to boost awakening rates is generally recommended.

Buying an Ego Stone Essence to instantly awaken a hero is also a good option if the event is available (make sure your hero is eligible before purchasing).

Mid Game / End Game

If you are a P2W player (whale), you can safely boost every awakening attempt without worrying about resources.

However, for F2P players, ruby income is much more limited. In addition, due to the game's power creep, you may need around 2 millionRubies icon- Seven Knights Idle Adventure every two weeks to keep up with new hero releases.

Because of that, investing rubies into awakening is generally not recommended for F2P players.

The only scenario where spending rubies on awakening is worth it is when a weak hero or a support hero that is viable at low investment is released. In that case, you can save a significant amount of rubies and rebuild your resources before the next banner.

Global Strategy

Take advantage of the pity system and focus on awakening heroes one at a time instead of spreading your resources.

Can all heroes be awakened?

Short answer: No.

Each new hero always comes out with their awakened version.
But practically every two weeks, an old hero also sees their awakened version come out.

Often, the release schedule every two weeks is three heroes: one new hero + their awakened version + an awakened old hero.

Is Awakening Worth It?

Yes — awakening is absolutely mandatory if you want to stay competitive in mid-game and end-game. Currently, very few non-awakened heroes are viable in your main team.

For example, some heroes like Karma go from being almost unplayable to becoming must-have units once awakened.

An awakened hero at level 1 is significantly stronger than the same hero at level 100 without awakening.

Which Heroes Should You Awaken First?

Choosing the right heroes to awaken first can significantly accelerate your progression. A bad investment can slow you down for weeks, especially as a F2P player.

DPS heroes benefit the most from awakening, as it significantly boosts their stats, buffs, and damage scaling.

Currently, these are the top 3 DPS heroes to prioritize:

Erin

Erin portrait

The best burn DPS in the game, with no critical rate issues thanks to her self-buff. She also applies a debuff that increases enemy damage taken by 45%.

Surtr

Surtr portrait

The only non-collab character capable of applying corrosion along with a 75% defense reduction debuff. He is also one of the top 3 DPS in the game.

Sage

The only non-collab hero that applies weakness attack rate reduction and bonus damage rate debuffs. Deals very high damage and applies the Disintegration DoT.

Deep Nightmare Priority

If you are pushing Deep Nightmare and aiming for high tiers, you will face a major issue: extremely high critical resistance (over 150% depending on your tier).

To deal with this, you need heroes that increase critical rate or reduce critical resistance by up to 36%.

Currently, only a few heroes reach this threshold, making them top awakening priorities:

  • Rachel / Siris — Increase critical rate by 36%
  • Ecila — Increases critical rate when HP is below 50%, and remains a top priority thanks to her Overload x3 (+15% final damage)
  • Kyle / Cat Mage Lucia — Reduce critical resistance; Cat Mage Lucia is also the best poison DPS

Kyle is primarily a PvP hero but becomes essential in this mode.

What does awakening bring?

Awakening returns the hero to level 0, and you can then upgrade them to level 50.
This allows you to further improve his stats.
It will cost you experience, but in much greater quantities than for the progression of an unawakened hero.

PS: Even at level 0, an awakened hero will always be stronger than their level 100 version.

Awakening improves critical attack skills and active skills.
In the case of older heroes, it completely overhauls their skills to better adapt them to the current meta.

Evolving heroes also provides an additional buff (ATK, HP, Defense.) in the Abyss Expedition based on the total number of stars of evolved heroes you add to your team.
It also unlocks the “Advanced stat bonus”.

Advanced stat bonus.

Advanced stat bonus interface Seven Knights Idle Adventure

Even if the “Advanced stat bonus” is unlocked, you will need to raise the “stat bonus” to at least +50 for your awakened hero to benefit from it.
This system has 6 stats to unlock:

  • Final Evasion (Stat bonus +50)
  • Final Defense (Stat bonus level +60)
  • Final Attack (Stat bonus level +70)
  • Final HP (Stat bonus level +80)
  • Final Accuracy (Stat bonus level +90)
  • Final Attack (Stat bonus level +100)

Each stat starts at tier 0, and you then have the option to increase them.
The higher your tier, the more interesting the stats will be.
Each tier has a different improvement success rate:

  • Tier 1 (50%)
  • Tier 2 (45%)
  • Tier 3 (41%)
  • Tier 4 (36%)
  • Tier 5 (31%)
  • Tier 6 (26%)
  • Tier 7 (21%)
  • Tier 8 (16%)
  • Tier 9 (11%)
  • Tier 10 (6%)

To upgrade them, you can spend a copy of your hero or 50,000Rubies icon- Seven Knights Idle Adventure to try to upgrade each tier.
During a roll, each tier will have its own chances of advancing to the next level.
You can start rolling even if your hero's bonus stat is at 0. Even if unlocked, stats can increase in tier level.
