Last updated: May 2026

Welcome to my updated Seven Knights Idle Adventure tier list for 2026. In this guide you will find every hero ranked by tier, with tips to help you decide whether a hero is worth pulling or investing in.

One key question we will answer throughout this article: do sub-legendary heroes still have a place in the current meta, or have awakened heroes made them completely obsolete?

How This Tier List Works

Within each tier, heroes are grouped by their class: Melee, Ranged, Defense, and Support. This approach gives a much clearer picture of who is actually strong, since comparing the DPS of a Melee hero to a Support hero makes very little sense.

Disclaimer: This tier list is based entirely on my own experience and playstyle. It is purely subjective. For context, I have been playing Seven Knights Idle Adventure for roughly two years, I have reached end-game content and I am currently pushing tier 200 in Deep Nightmare.

Tier S – The Meta Defining Heroes

Tier S heroes are what you could call broken. They perform well in almost every game mode, and not having them will genuinely slow down your progression.

Melee

The S tier Melee slots are dominated by the DoTS meta composition. High Lord Orly acts as the core buffer for DoT damage, while Fenrir brings the only team-wide buff that boosts Vital Strike Hit. Sage completes this core as the only non-collaboration hero capable of applying the debuff that reduces Weakness Attack Rate and Bonus Damage Rate.

Drummer Rudy also lands directly in S tier. His burst phases are devastating in PVE and he fits seamlessly into the current meta.

On the PVP side, Bloody Night Kyle remains the undisputed king, capable of dismantling any composition. He is joined by two new awakened heroes: Trude, essentially a stronger version of Gelidus with her destructive jump mechanics, and the return of Branze and Branzel at the very top. Same kit, significantly stronger execution. High Lord Teo also remains unchallenged in PVP thanks to his damage output combined with the Unrevivable debuff.

Ranged

High Lord Alicia is the foundation of the DoTS meta on the Ranged side. She buffs DoT damage, shares the same team Crit Damage boost as High Lord Teo, and provides a 100% damage boost in Nightmare. She has become the number one High Lord in Nightmare without question.

Cat Mage Lucia and Erin are the best Poison and Burn DPS respectively, both essential in this meta. Frontman Dellons also makes a spectacular entry into S tier, using DoTs to push Critical damage to levels never seen before. Surtr rounds out the Ranged S tier by finally offering the Corrosion debuff without requiring a collaboration hero.

High Lord Sun Wukong is the cornerstone of the Strengthening Stack meta. Once he reaches 4 stacks, he spams his active attack, granting 2 stacks to the entire team. This creates a fantastic synergy with heroes like Rin, who deals more damage by consuming stacks.

Defense

Karma is the undisputed S tier tank. He will carry you from early game all the way to end-game, in both PVE and PVP. His shields make your team virtually unkillable.

Lu Bu is the only hero with the duality of being played as either a DPS or a Tank. I personally prefer him in DPS mode, as he applies far more pressure in PVP with his jump. In PVE his damage output is terrifying, and keeping him as a Tank would be a real waste for your team.

Support

Rauha is the best healer in the game, incredibly useful across all PVE game modes. She also significantly enhances compositions that rely on Strength Stacks.

Ecilia is a magnificent support hero and the only one capable of providing up to 6 Nullify Damage stacks to the team, while also applying the Overload debuff, which can be boosted through Strengthening Stacks for up to 15% additional final damage.

Tier A – Strong and Reliable Heroes

Tier A heroes are either strong across most game modes or absolutely essential in at least one specific mode. They are solid investments even if they do not quite reach the broken level of S tier.

Melee

Veterans like Gelidus and Jack still hold up in PVP thanks to their immortality mechanics. High Lord Rudy remains solid at 10 stars, even though newer releases like Alicia and Orly have pushed him slightly down.

The debuff specialists for Weakness Attack Rate and Bonus Damage Rate reduction, namely Demon King of Salvation, Solderet's Contractor Jin, and Master of the Blossoming Blade, remain indispensable in most team compositions. Contractor Jin is the most effective of the three but lacks the DPS output to reach S tier.

Restia (Melee/Support) brings team-wide Nullify Damage, which is mandatory for Hard Boss Challenge and useful in certain Deep Nightmare compositions.

Radgrid has fallen from her peak due to the rise of awakened heroes, but she still brings strong value in both PVP and PVE with her Disintegration, Evasion debuff, Damage Taken increase, and exceptional survivability. Her main weakness is damage output.

Ranged

Blanc and Ainz hold their immortality-based playstyle, similar to Gelidus and Jack. Blanc is the superior pick as he can be played in PVE and his self Crit buffs allow him to reach very high Crit rates to counter end-game Crit resistance.

The older High Lord Ranged heroes remain playable but have been superseded: High Lord Dellons by High Lord Arianrhod, and High Lord Rin by High Lord Orly.

Early awakened DPS heroes are being outpaced on raw damage, but remain near-mandatory thanks to their team buffs. Heir to the Hidden Palace Siris, for example, grants +36% Critical Hit Rate to the entire team, making her essential in Deep Nightmare even with more modest personal damage.

Support

Several Support heroes remain very strong in specific modes. Arang is the ideal Restia support partner for Hard Boss Challenge (each in one team). Undercover Ruri delivers extraordinary healing with Concentrated Attack mandatory for Chaos Ruins. Jiangshi Pooki dominates Stage Race thanks to her Movement Speed aura.

Tier B – Situational but Viable

Tier B heroes are situational. They can be useful in certain contexts but are replaceable in most team compositions. Do not write them off entirely though, they can absolutely carve out a small role in the meta.

Melee

Most Tier B Melee heroes serve to fill gaps in buffs or DoT application when you lack better options. Fai is a good example: her Attack Speed boost and Burn are solid, but she is replaceable by Erin in most cases.

Defense

Aquila and Mirage are playable in Chaos Ruins thanks to their Concentrated Attack. Aquila can also be a decent pick in PVP Team 3 for her survivability and high Critical Resistance.

Ranged

Similarly replaceable on the Ranged side. Bi-Dam can be used in PVP for mass Silence, though counters exist. Vicky and Colt bring strong AoE but lack the overall punch to rank higher.

Support

Two utility supports worth noting for Deep Nightmare: Alph for his Evasion reduction and Lana for her Paralysis immunity. Niche picks, but genuinely useful when you need them.

Tier C – Former Meta, Now Obsolete

Tier C heroes were once relevant but no longer fit into any competitive team composition. They might be usable for a few hours in early game, but you will quickly move on.

Melee

Chip was a great early pick with his double DoT (Bleed + Poison) but is now completely outclassed by the modern DoT meta. Platin and his Evasion debuff served well through mid-game but has been rendered irrelevant by releases like Karma and awakened Elenia.

Defense

Jake was once the only hero capable of reducing Ranged cooldowns. That role has since been taken over by High Lord Orly and Mariner Biya.

Ranged

Sylvia was essentially the predecessor to Blanc, using immortality as a baiting tool in the early floors of Infinite Tower. A nostalgic pick, nothing more.

Support

Before the game introduced heroes with Nullify Damage, Seaton was the go-to for dispelling debuffs inflicted by Guild Bosses. That role no longer exists in the same way.

Tier C is, above all, a nostalgia tier.

Tier D – Collection Only

Tier D heroes have no place in any current team composition. Many of these are collaboration heroes that are effectively codex-only or collection-only picks. We are waiting on an awakened version or a rework to bring them back into relevance.

It is also worth noting that any hero below Legendary rarity is effectively Tier D by default. Getting a full Legendary team no longer takes long at all. Within your first hour of playing you can unlock a full Legendary lineup, and a Legendary hero at 0 stars will outperform a sub-Legendary hero at 10 stars.

There are three exceptions to this rule: Jiangshi Pooki for his Movement Speed aura, and Noho and Chloe for their Evasion debuff, which can be useful in the specific case where you have not yet unlocked a Legendary hero with that capability.

Frequently Asked Questions

In my opinion, Surtr the Last Giant currently holds the top DPS spot. I do not yet have the resources to max out Frontman Dellons for a proper comparison, so that verdict may change as I get more data.

It depends on where you are in the game:

  • Early game: Go for Magic Society Elke first. Through the welcome event you can awaken her for free, and she will be your main DPS for a very long time.
  • Mid game: Unlock a hero that applies the Weakness Attack Rate and Bonus Damage Rate debuff, such as Sage.
  • End game: Prioritize awakened Rachel for her +36% team Critical Hit Rate buff. That bonus is a genuine game-changer when you start facing high Crit resistance in end-game modes.

High Lord Alicia is my pick for the best High Lord overall. In PVP she is solid rather than dominant, but her 180m range and AoE make her reliable. In PVE she does everything: she boosts Nightmare damage, Critical damage, and DoTs all at once. No other High Lord offers that level of versatility.

The DoTS synergy built around High Lord Alicia or High Lord Orly, combined with the latest DoT meta heroes, is by far the strongest composition in the current patch. If you are building toward end-game, this is the direction to go.
