A mage who controls the power of time. She joined the Seven Knights when Dellons was expelled. Born into the esteemed Windringer Family, renowned mages of the Blazing Desert, she got trapped in a rift in space-time due to inadvertently touching an hourglass in the basement of her home. Mastering the power of time, she returned to reality two decades later, now hunting down Dellons to thwart the cataclysm she foresaw beyond the rift of time.

Multi-hit active breaks Veils

Weakness

Not viable without awakening

Vanessa is the base version of Time Pilgrim Vanessa, a hero whose main purpose is to break enemy Veils through her multi-hit active skill. While she shares the same core kit as her awakened counterpart, there are significant differences that make her not viable for combat in her base form.

The awakened version receives dramatically higher damage output and the powerful Time Pilgrim system with stacking bonuses. Without awakening, Vanessa's damage is too weak to be effective - her only real utility is using her multi-hit active to break Veils, which is insufficient for any serious team composition. The gap between base and awakened heroes is simply too large to justify running the base version in any content.

It is worth leveling this hero up to level 100 in preparation for their awakening, which is when they truly become competitive and worth investing in. In the meantime, use them for the Codex to earn Rubies and permanent stat bonuses.

Should You Use Vanessa?

No — Vanessa should only be leveled for Codex purposes. The power gap between base and awakened heroes is too large to justify running her in any team composition.

Strengths

Multi-hit active breaks Veils — Vanessa's active skill hits multiple times, making her useful for stripping enemy Veil buffs even in base form.
Single-target damage — Her active skill focuses on one target, providing consistent single-target damage output.

Weaknesses

Not viable without awakening — the base version has dramatically lower damage output compared to Time Pilgrim Vanessa. Her damage is too weak for serious content.
No Time Pilgrim system — the awakened version has the unique Time Pilgrim system that stacks for massive bonuses. The base version lacks this entirely.
Weak base damage — Vanessa's base damage is too low to be effective as a DPS. Her only use is Veil breaking, which is insufficient justification for a team slot.
No stack-based scaling — without awakening, she lacks the Strengthening stack mechanics that make her relevant in late-game compositions.

Best Game Modes

  • Codex — level up Vanessa to 100 to unlock the awakening and earn Rubies and permanent stat bonuses.

Build & Optimization

Roll for Critical Hit Rate. The higher you climb in Chaos Ruins, the more enemy Critical Hit Resistance reduces your crit chance. Stack beyond 100% to keep your Time Distortion stacks consistently active.

FAQ

Is Vanessa worth pulling?

Only if you plan to awaken her. The base version is not viable for combat.

What makes Vanessa unique?

Multi-hit active skill designed to break Veils, with single-target damage focus and Strengthening stack mechanics when awakened.

Is Vanessa playable without awakening?

No — the base version is not viable. Her damage is too weak, and her only utility is Veil breaking, which doesn't justify a team slot.

Should I awaken this hero?

Yes — awakening transforms Vanessa into a viable DPS with the Time Pilgrim system, significantly higher damage, and stack-based scaling. Essential for her viability.
