Arang is one of the most reliable non-awakened supports in the game — and remarkably, he still holds his own even in the era of awakened heroes. His kit is simple but devastatingly effective : a team-wide 3-stack Nullify damage and -25% damage taken buff that is permanent and undispatchable, combined with consistent HP recovery on every critical hit and a built-in revive. If your team is struggling to survive in any game mode, dropping Arang in solves the problem immediately.

Strengths

Team-wide 3-stack Nullify + -25% damage taken — undispellable — Whimsical Heroics grants every ally 3 Nullify damage stacks and -25% damage taken for 10 sec, and this buff cannot be removed. In modes like Hard Boss Challenge where the boss constantly strips buffs on successful attack, nullify protection is absolutely essential to keep the team functional.

Consistent team healing — his critical hit attack recovers 3.1% HP for all allies on every successful hit and reduces his skill cooldown by 2 sec simultaneously. This means he cycles his active skill frequently while keeping the team topped up with constant heals throughout the fight.

Built-in revive — Arang revives once at 100% HP when fallen, giving him exceptional personal survivability that allows him to keep healing and buffing even after taking lethal damage.

Zero damage contribution — Arang brings no offensive value whatsoever. Including him means sacrificing a DPS slot entirely in favor of pure survivability. In teams where damage output is already tight, this trade-off needs careful consideration.

Vulnerable to multi-hit attacks — the 3 Nullify stacks are consumed one per hit, meaning heroes that deal multiple hits in rapid succession will deplete his entire protection almost instantly, leaving the team exposed.

Hard countered by High Lord Teo — Teo automatically jumps to the farthest Support Type hero, which means Arang is almost always his first target. A Teo applies Unrevivable and deals massive damage in one go — completely shutting down Arang's kit. Given how prevalent High Lord Teo is in the current PvP meta, this is a very common and painful matchup to face.

Recommended Synergies

Apostate Priest Platin Platin has zero survivability tools. Arang's undispellable Nullify and healing keep him alive long enough to unleash his full damage rotation.

Cat Mage Lucia Lucia is a glass cannon with no defensive kit. Arang's Nullify and -25% damage taken provide the protection she needs to stack Dopamine Rush safely.

Restia A melee + support duo that makes Nullify much harder to counter in PvP. Restia's targeted protection plus Arang's undispellable team Nullify creates a layered defense that opponents struggle to break through.

Hard Boss Challenge — essential — the undispellable Nullify buff is critical in this mode where bosses constantly strip team buffs. Arang keeps your team protected through debuff-heavy fights.
Deep Nightmare & Nightmare — his sustained healing and Nullify protection make him a reliable survivability anchor in end-game content where incoming damage is punishing.
PvP (Arena) — team 1 or team 2 — even in the awakened hero era, Arang remains a legitimate PvP pick. His undispellable 3-stack Nullify, -25% damage reduction and revive make the entire team significantly harder to burst. A solid choice for both first and second PvP teams, especially when paired with damage-oriented heroes that need protection to perform.

Is Arang worth using in teams that already have high survivability?
