Epic Heroes - Seven Knights Idle Adventure

Epic heroes hold a special place in Seven Knights Idle Adventure. Unlike Normal and Rare heroes, which never found a real foothold in combat, Epic heroes were genuinely useful, not at the highest level, but in concrete situations that many players experienced early on. If you've been playing for a while, you probably remember using one of them to fill a gap in your team. Today, however, the natural progression of the game and the accumulation of Legendary and Awakened heroes have gradually pushed them into the role of collection heroes, much like their lower-tier counterparts.

Guide: "What Should You Do With Epic Heroes?"

Epic heroes are today only useful for completing your Codex and earning permanent passive stats and rubies. Their restrictions are identical to Normal and Rare heroes: level cap of 50.

Unlike Normal and Rare, they technically have access to Potentials (two traits) and the Stat Bonus system. However, these systems require valuable resources, do not invest in them. Since these heroes are not playable in mid or late-game, doing so would be pure waste.

Simply level them up for the Codex. In mid and late-game, no Epic hero can compete with meta heroes, even in a situational support role.

How to Obtain Epic Heroes?

Epic heroes are obtained through the standard summon system on regular banners. With a summon rate of 19% at level 10 summons, they are less frequent than Normal and Rare heroes, so you'll naturally accumulate fewer of them over time.

Epic Heroes in Early-Game: Real but Temporary Utility

Epic heroes have one characteristic that Normal and Rare heroes never had: they could be used in specific situations when you had no other options.

Example 1 — Catty and the Bleed Combo

Some Legendary heroes like
Trude portrait

have kits that heavily rely on enemy DoTs to reach their full potential. Early on, if you were lucky enough to obtain Trude but didn't yet have a bleed applicator, Catty could temporarily fill that role. It wasn't optimal, but it was functional, and that's exactly what you ask of an early-game hero.

Example 2 — Cleo and Poison in Chaos Ruins

Some Chaos Ruins rotations include mechanics that amplify damage dealt to the boss when a specific DoT is present. Without another hero capable of applying poison in your team, Cleo allowed you to meet that requirement and progress in this game mode. A situational but real use case for players who were just starting out.

These examples illustrate the philosophy of this tier well: Epic heroes were never meta, they were a stopgap solution while waiting to build a stronger team.

Why Did Epic Heroes Become Obsolete?

There was no specific patch that killed them, it was the natural evolution of the game that gradually sidelined them. As players accumulate Legendary heroes, the situational niches that Epics filled disappear on their own.

A bleed applicator like

does strictly everything Catty could do, but better. A poison applicator like

replaces Cleo without a second thought. This is the natural cycle of a gacha game: lower tiers become obsolete.

In What Order Should You Level Epic Heroes for the Codex?

The priority rule remains identical to all other tiers:

Step 1 — Prioritize the right stats

  • Priority 1: Accuracy, then Attack / Crit Damage
  • Priority 2: All other stats

Step 2 — At equal stats, prioritize the higher tier

Epics come before Rare and Normal, but after Unique and Legendaries. An Epic granting Accuracy will therefore be leveled before a Rare granting the same stat.

When Should You Start Leveling Epic Heroes?

In mid-game, once you have a surplus of hero experience sufficient to craft all your Hero strengthening stones in Elke's Cauldron every day. First level your Legendary and Unique heroes granting Accuracy, then tackle your Epics in the same priority order.

FAQ

Can Epic heroes still be useful in combat today?

In very rare cases, at the very start of the game (less than an hour into the game), if you have no Legendary alternative for a specific niche like dots. As soon as you obtain a Legendary equivalent, replace them immediately.

How many rubies do you earn by maxing an Epic hero?

150Rubies icon- Seven Knights Idle Adventure on unlock, 1,250 more upon reaching level 50, and 4,050 more at 10 stars, for a total of 5,450Rubies icon- Seven Knights Idle Adventure per fully completed Epic hero.

Are any Epic heroes still viable in mid or late-game?

No. Their structural restrictions, level cap of 50, no equipment, no accessories, and extremely weak kits; prevent them from competing with higher tiers in any situation.

What's the difference between an Epic and a Unique hero?

Unique heroes represent the tier just above Epic. Unlike Epics, which were only useful in very specific early-game niches, Unique heroes was genuinely in the meta for a significant period before being progressively replaced by Legendaries and Awakened heroes.
