Rare Heroes - Seven Knights Idle Adventure
Rare heroes don't quite live up to their name, they're relatively easy to obtain, which can catch new players off guard. Unfortunately, like Normal heroes, they are completely unusable in combat and are relegated to collection-only status. However, their slightly higher rarity makes them better Codex reward sources than their Normal counterparts, giving them a meaningful indirect utility over the long run.

What should you do with Rare heroes?
Rare heroes share the same fate as Normal heroes: they exist solely to complete your Codex and earn rubies and permanent passive stats. Their combat kit is too weak to contribute anything to a team, and has been since the game launched. Don't try to use them in combat — focus exclusively on leveling them up and raising their stars for Codex progress.

How do you obtain Rare heroes?
Like Normal heroes, Rare heroes are available through the standard summon system on all banners. With a 29% appearance rate at summon level 10, they are naturally less common than Normal heroes, but you'll still accumulate a good number of them over the course of your summons without specifically targeting them. Unlike Extra heroes, no alternative acquisition system is needed — the standard gacha is sufficient.
Normal vs. Rare — What's the difference?
| Normal | Rare | |
|---|---|---|
| Summon rate | 43.85% | 29% |
| Rubies on unlock | 50 | 100 |
| Rubies at level 50 | 750 | 950 |
| Codex accuracy for levels | +3% | +4% |
| Maximum level | 50 | 50 |
| Usable in combat | ❌ | ❌ |
In short, Rare heroes reward you slightly better than Normal heroes in the Codex, which justifies prioritizing them slightly when deciding who to level up first.

In what order should you level heroes for the Codex?
Priority follows two steps:
Step 1 — Prioritize the right stats, regardless of tier
Before worrying about a hero's tier, look at which Codex stat they grant:
- Priority 1: Accuracy, then Attack / Crit Damage
- Priority 2: All other stats
A Rare hero granting Accuracy should therefore be leveled before a Rare hero granting a secondary stat.
Step 2 — For equal stats, prioritize the higher tier
If two heroes grant the same Codex stat, level up the one with the highest tier first since the ruby rewards will be better. Rare heroes therefore come before Normal, but after Epic, Unique, and Legendary.
Should you max them or just unlock them?
The first step is always to unlock them to collect the immediate 100
. Once you have a surplus of hero experience — which happens naturally around mid-game — level them to 50. The cost is low since that's the cap, and every 10 levels unlocks a new Codex reward.
When should you start leveling Rare heroes?
Wait until mid-game, once you are consistently crafting all your hero strengthening stones in Elke's cauldron every day. Use the surplus hero experience to level your Rare heroes, but only after you have finished your Legendary, Unique, and Epic heroes that grant Accuracy in the Codex.
