How Team Building Works
To build a powerful team, your first goal is to select heroes that provide as many core buffs as possible across your lineup.
If you cannot have all of them, here are the most important ones:
- Reduce evasion → enemy evasion is one of the biggest challenges early in the game.
- Increase Critical Rate → Without critical hits, your heroes will deal very low damage and won’t apply key buffs or debuffs.
- Reduce Defense → One of the most powerful debuffs that significantly increases your damage output.
Mid Game+
Starting from mid game, it becomes essential to include a hero that reduces critical resistance.
At this stage, enemies gain resistance, and you will need this debuff to consistently land critical hits.
The second key aspect is team survivability.
You must include tanks, supports, or hybrid heroes capable of fulfilling both roles.
Core Roles in a Team
Currently, there are three main roles in the game: DPS, Tanks, and Supports.
DPS
These heroes are focused on dealing damage but generally have low survivability.
They can be melee or ranged, and some tanks or supports may also deal damage.
They are usually placed in the second or third line.
Tank
Placed on the front line, tanks absorb damage for the team.
They may have taunt abilities or high survivability mechanics like damage nullification.
They are essential for keeping the team alive.
Support / Heal
Supports are essential, providing healing or protective effects.
Some can even grant group immunity to crowd control, making certain bosses easier.
Like DPS, they are usually placed in the second or third line.
Note that each role can also provide buffs, debuffs, or damage over time effects.
For example, a tank can reduce evasion just like a DPS.
Why Synergy Matters
Synergies allow heroes to reach their full potential.
It is essential to understand each hero’s kit and combine them properly.
Synergies can come from conditions such as:
- Increased damage on targets affected by a specific debuff
- Increased damage above a certain HP threshold
- Increased damage when a specific buff is active
A hero like
Without a corrosion applier in your team, her damage becomes extremely low.
Always analyze your heroes before building your team.
Common Team Building Mistakes
Choosing the wrong High Lord
Each team can only include one High Lord, and they provide unique team-wide buffs.
Choosing the right one is critical for synergy.
Using one team for all game modes
Each mode has its own mechanics and challenges.
Using the same team everywhere is inefficient.
Example: In "Nightmare", specific buffs are required, but those heroes may be useless in other modes like "Infinite Tower".
Ignoring camera positioning
The camera determines which hero uses their active skill first.
This allows advanced strategies.
Example: Start with a hero that reduces evasion so your entire team benefits from increased accuracy.
Best Team Archetypes
Currently, two major archetypes dominate the meta.
DoT Teams
With the release of new High Lords and strong DoT heroes, two main variants exist:
Orly-based team
Focus: Burn, Poison, Bleed
Alicia-based team
Focus: Burn, Disintegration, Frostbite
Strengthen Stack Teams
This archetype relies on stacking Strengthen buffs.
These stacks enhance stats or modify abilities.
Key enablers: High Lord Sun Wukong, Rauha
Examples:
- Chosen Hero Nadan ignores crit resistance and deals massive damage

- Bloody Night Kyle triggers powerful AoE critical attacks

- Ecila in Dreamland applies a strong Overload debuff

Team Building Tips (2026)
PvE vs PvP Differences
In PvE, focus on long-term damage and survivability.
In PvP, fights are explosive and require strong defensive strategies.
Defensively:
Use shields or damage nullification.
Offensively:
PvP enemies have lower HP, so burst damage is key.
Prefer heroes with large AoE and long-range active skills.
Best PvP Survivability Synergy
Elenia provides 3 stacks of damage nullification.
If allies are affected by Overload, this doubles to 6 stacks.
Ecilia applies Overload first due to higher range.
This guarantees maximum survivability at the start of the fight.
Scaling Into Late Game
Focus on awakened heroes — they are significantly stronger.
Key tips:
- Use heroes boosting vital strike chance
- Apply debuffs decreasing bonus damage rate resist and weakness attack rate resist
- Learn to play with Overload despite its HP drain
Nightmare Heroes
Some heroes boost damage specifically in Nightmare modes.
Newer heroes now provide up to +100% damage.
Examples: High Lord Sun Wukong, High Lord Alicia, Transcendent Witch Velika
