A dark mage who harnesses the power of Nestra. Originally a member of the Dark Knights, Mercure discovered during a dangerous experiment in Gaia that Gaia was on the same destructive path as Telus. Feeling that his work had reached its limits there, Mercure decided to leave Gaia. He created a dimensional key to travel between different planes of existence as he resumed his research. However, the more he traveled, the clearer it became to him that a world's fate could not be reversed once it was set on a doomed course. In his frustration and anger against this inescapable destiny, as well as the fact that his research would come to an inevitable end, Mercure felt a strange gaze watching him from beyond the veil of dimensions. That was when he came face-to-face with Skuld, an Apostle of Nestra. Mercure stared into her eyes. Within them, he discovered the power of Nestra, along with a new hint of creation through destruction, and resolved to embrace the darkness to prolong his research for eternity.

Massive single-target burst damage paired with a top-tier debuff

Weakness

Needs Overload uptime to unlock his full damage potential

Doomsday Scientist Mercure is one of the best burst DPS units in Seven Knights Idle Adventure, sitting right alongside Sage as a premier single-target damage dealer. He carries one of the strongest offensive debuffs in the game, making him a near-mandatory pick for any team looking to maximize its damage output, and his kit rewards players who can keep him alive and hitting hard.

What makes him stand out is how much he brings to a team beyond his own numbers: his debuff amplifies everyone's damage, and his survivability tools let him stay on the field far longer than a typical glass-cannon DPS. His main limitation is that a large chunk of his damage ceiling depends on maintaining the Overload condition, which requires some team setup to use him at his best. He also loses a lot of value against enemies who can dispel his buffs.

Should You Use Doomsday Scientist Mercure?

Yes — Doomsday Scientist Mercure is a must-pull hero, and honestly a top priority if you don't already own a hero with his debuff, since it dramatically increases your whole team's damage. His burst, survivability, and utility make him one of the best investments currently available.

Strengths

Enormous burst potential — his active skill can reach up to 10200% Attack in damage when Overload is active, one of the highest bursts in the game.
Top-tier team debuff — reduces both Bonus Damage Rate Resist and Weakness Attack Rate Resist by 24%, significantly amplifying your whole team's damage.
Strong survivability — his Immortal buff prevents him from falling once, and his evasion buff scales up even further when his HP drops below 70%.
Self-sustaining cooldown reduction — his basic attack shortens his active skill's cooldown, letting him spam his massive nuke more often.
Long PvP range — his 120-range active skill lets him threaten backline targets far more easily than most DPS units.

Weaknesses

Overload dependency — a large part of his burst damage requires the Overload condition to be active, though this is a minor drawback since Overload is already recommended for his best output.
Vulnerable to dispels — losing his buffs early removes a significant portion of his damage and survivability.

Best Game Modes

  • PvE — excellent across all content and especially strong in end-game, with a debuff that's a must-have in nearly every team and consistently great single-target damage.
  • Stage Race — his huge single-target burst makes him one of the best picks for pushing mono-target stages.
  • PvP — solid survivability combined with strong AOE damage, especially when paired with an Overload-focused team.

Build & Optimization

A full Critical build is the go-to option, since his Critical Hit damage scales extremely well and he benefits from his own self-buffs on top of it. He's relatively simple to build and requires less investment than many other top-tier heroes. In PvP, an evasion-focused build can also be a fun and viable alternative thanks to his naturally high evasion scaling.

FAQ

Should I pull Mercure or Sage?

Both share the same core debuff and a very similar kit. For PvE, Sage has a slight edge thanks to his Disintegration DoT and marginally higher damage. In PvP, however, Mercure is superior, offering a much longer range (120 vs 60) and better survivability through his Immortal buff.

Is Doomsday Scientist Mercure the awakened version of Mercure?

No, Doomsday Scientist Mercure is actually the awakened version of Apostle Mercure. This is likely tied to the developers' current approach of releasing new heroes instead of awakened forms of existing ones, possibly to encourage additional ruby spending.
