One of the sages that recently went missing. He was the leader of the Hwarangs before Bi Dam. Years before he became a sage, he was obsessed with making a name for himself and initiated a reckless war. He was defeated by the enemy general Karma, and he was dismissed from all his positions and began living in seclusion. After reaching sagehood through diligent cultivation, he unexpectedly crossed paths with Karma, who ruined his life. However, Yu Shin had already let go of all worldly attachments, so he forgave Karma. As a result, the two became friends.

Strength

Curse application + minor team Accuracy buff

Weakness

Low damage output, outclassed by modern heroes

Yu Shin is a Legendary-tier Melee hero who brings Curse application and minor team utility through her Focus buff. While she can inflict Curse for 10 seconds and benefits from it with +50% damage against Cursed targets, her overall damage output falls significantly short of modern heroes in the current meta.

Her active skill deals AoE damage with both Curse and Paralysis, but the damage multipliers are modest compared to top-tier DPS units. The Focus buff granted to allies provides some team utility, though the 2-second duration and +20% Accuracy bonus are relatively minor in practice.

Should You Use Yu Shin?

No — Yu Shin is not recommended. She is a Codex-only hero with low damage output and limited utility, easily outclassed by numerous Legendary and Awakened Legendary alternatives available today.

Strengths

Curse application — inflicts Curse debuff for 10 seconds with her active skill, disabling enemy HP recovery.
Short-duration crowd control — Paralysis on her active skill provides 1.5 seconds of disable, stopping enemy attacks, movement and skills.
Self-damage amplification — gains +50% final damage against Cursed targets, rewarding Curse application.
Minor team utility — Critical Hit Attack grants Focus buff to allies, providing +20% Accuracy for 2 seconds.

Weaknesses

Low damage output — active skill damage multiplier is modest compared to current top-tier heroes.
No team-wide buffs — Focus buff is minor and limited to 2 seconds with no meaningful scaling.
Outclassed by alternatives — numerous heroes provide better damage, stronger debuffs, or superior utility.

Why Yu Shin Stands Out

Yu Shin's main value lies in her Curse application, which she can self-trigger for damage amplification. However, her overall package is underwhelming, with damage and utility that cannot compete with modern Legendary-tier heroes.

Best Game Modes

  • Codex Only — limited to Codex acquisition; not recommended for investment in any game mode.

Build & Optimization

Prioritize Critical Hit Rate as the primary stat for Yu Shin to maximize her damage output and enable her Critical Hit Attack's self-buffing mechanics. In Deep Nightmare, high boss Crit Rate Resist makes Crit Rate especially valuable. Secondary focus on Attack for base damage increases.
